Available positions for Trainees at the Institure for Energy and Transport
In-service training is a period spent at the Joint Research Centre, Institute for Energy and Transport, in accordance with the rules set out in the Rules governing the Traineeship Scheme of 25 November 2010. In-service training enables trainees to acquire personal experience and to put into practice the knowledge they have acquired during their studies, professional carriers or to prepare thesis for university degree or Master or PhD.
Three types of training are offered:
- Type 1) training related to the preparation of a thesis for a university degree
- Type 2) training after university education (or its equivalent)
- Type 3) industrial placement
The duration may not be for fewer than three months and the maximum is twelve months (see art. 5 of the Rules).
Trainees are selected from, nationals of the Member States of the European Union, of candidate countries benefiting from a pre-accession strategy and of other countries contributing financially to the Framework Programme. However, a limited number of nationals of non-Member States may also be accepted with derogation from the Director General.

Important: The Joint Research Centre and the Institute for Energy and Transport will accept only one application per candidate. Candidates who have not been selected for a project, can introduce a new application for another project only once the previous one has been closed. Please note that only the candidates selected for one of the positions published will receive a notification from the IET Management Support Unit within 2 months from the closure of the call.
